HOMES. FAMILIES. COMMUNITIES.
COVID-19 UPDATE
The Emily Murphy Centre is a Second Stage Housing facility located in Stratford, Ontario.
We were established in 1989 to empower and serve women, with or without children, in Perth County and surrounding area, who have experienced violence.
Through the provision of services for women and children, second stage housing provides a safe alternative to living with violence and allows women to work co-operatively toward independence and freedom.
We also operate the Supervised Access Programs for Huron and Perth Counties.
Safe Homes, Safe Families, Safe Communities.

Supervised Access and Visitation
When parents separate, access visits with children may be a problem. Sometimes, difficulties arise at the time of the exchange of the child between the parents, guardians or relatives. Other times, there may be concerns about the visits themselves.

What is “Violence Against Women”?
Violence against women is the intent by an intimate partner or other, to control a woman’s behaviour or to induce fear by means of verbal abuse, psychological or emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, intimidation or a combination of these things. Isolation, financial control, threats of suicide or harm to loved ones, degradation, public humiliation and threats of force are all forms of abuse.
If you or someone you know is experiencing violence, there are people and organizations in the community that can help.
